Understanding Your Recology Bill and How to Save Money

San Francisco's Mandatory Recycling and Composting Ordinance requires all residents to properly separate their refuse into recyclables, compostables, and landfill trash.

Recology, the City's refuse hauler, offers curbside recycling, composting, and landfill trash services. To order services, please contact Recology at (415) 330-1300.

Recology's refuse rates encourage recycling and composting by providing these services at no extra cost to landfill service.

Residents who recycle and compost as much as possible may be able to reduce the size of the landfill bin to a 20-gallon bin. With San Francisco's comprehensive recycling and composting program, most residents are able to reduce landfill service and save money on refuse services.

For more information or free consultations in reducing waste and costs, please contact the Zero Waste Team at 415-355-3700.
