Setting Up Your Home Recycle and Compost Service
The Mandatory Recycling and Composting Ordinance requires all San Franciscans to properly separate recyclables, compostables, and landfill trash.
Information for Homeowners
All residences must have adequate refuse services and are qualified to recieve a free 2-gallon kitchen pail to collect compostables.
Elderly and/or disabled residents are eligible for a special rate. Recology will collect all three carts from inside locations at no additional charge.

Information for Renters
Renters in San Francisco are entitled to composting and recycling services at their property.
If your building does not have recycling or composting service, fill out an anonymous report form or call 415-355-3700.
We will contact your property manager to help set up recycling and composting with free set-up assistance.
