SF Energy Watch Success Story: Lombardi Sports

Lombardi Sports

Family-owned and operated since 1948, Lombardi Sports offers two levels of active gear and apparel in its 70,000-square-foot store. Lombardi Sports has a team of well-trained and knowledgeable professionals, offers health and sports seminars and is Bay Area's local retailer carrying a wide variety of athletic equipment and apparel.

Lombardi replaced approximately 250 metal halides with T8 fixtures with electronic ballasts in the retail store and in the garage. Timers were also installed, which added about 10 to 20% efficiency. These energy efficient upgrades cut Lombardi's utility bill by about half within the first year after the installation was completed.

Lombardi used the services of a SF Energy Watch participating lighting contractor making the entire process easy and convenient. The high incentives and technical expertise prompted Lombardi to take advantage of the SF Energy Watch program.

Benefits include:

  • Longer lifespan of lamps reduced maintenance time and costs
  • Easy and convenient process
  • Lighting quality improved customer experience and highlighted merchandise
