Private Sector Fleet Examples
One of the best examples of the private sector embracing the EV wave is Google. The Gfleet began in 2007 with a number of converted plug-in hybrids, they have since added to it including approximately 30 Nissan LEAFs and Chevy Volts with charging stations to support not only their fleet but also Google employees who own EVs. Other examples include PG&E which has been very proactive in encouraging customers to use alternative fueled vehicles and has led by example by managing a fleet filled with alternative fueled vehicles which is now transforming to include EVs. Pat’s Garage is another great example of how the private sector is supporting the EV charge. Pat’s Garage is the first green garage in the Bay Area, they service alternative fueled vehicles as well as make them—they convert hybrids into plug-ins.
