Residents living in low-income neighborhoods face major barriers to obtaining affordable, healthy, and nutritious food. We support community efforts to improve food security and increase access to fresh produce.

Southeast Food Access Working Group (SEFA) is a project of Shape Up San Francisco, led by Department of Public Health to address chronic diseases. SEFA is a partnership of public agencies and community groups to improve access to healthy, fresh and affordable food in the Southeast area of the City.Read>
The Environmental Justice (EJ) program is strengthening communities and promoting food security by helping local residents develop and maintain urban gardens and school garden education projects.Read>
