Compost This |
Do you have green cart composting service in your SF apartment building? If not, please email us your building address and property manager's contact info and we'll help get the program started.
SF Environment's goal is to get every building in the City composting. With your help, we can do it. We conduct site visits to identify space for the carts, door-to-door tenant outreach, and follow-up visits to ensure the program's success. Of course, green cart compost service comes at no additional charge to apartments in San Francisco. Find out what happens to San Francisco's food scraps in this CBS News piece. |

Who's the Greenest of Them All? |

We all know climate change is a big, hairy global predicament, but what can we do about it here at home? The Urban EcoMap uses trash collection and recycling rates, hybrid car ownership, household energy consumption patterns and other factors to identify how San Francisco neighborhoods are contributing to, and solving, the problem.
The Mission district emits nearly 38,000 pounds of carbon per household. How does your neighborhood stack up, and what can you do about it? Find out at the Urban EcoMap. |

Say No to Styro |
Why should something we use for ten minutes stick around in our environment for ten thousand years?
Help pass a statewide ban on single-use Styrofoam take-out food containers, just like we've done successfully here in SF.
