Resource Efficient Building Task Force
The Resource Efficient Building (Green Building) Task Force provides communication among city departments on green building issues and policy development, supports the integration of green building practices into city departments, and plays a key role in implementing Chapter 7 of the Environmental Code. The task force consists of a representative from each of the city departments list below and one member of the public.

Members
SF Environment (Department of the Environment) - provides green building training for city design staff, oversees green building pilot projects, and creates and carries out policy to improve the environmental performance of city buildings.Bureau of Architecture/Department of Public Works (DPW) - hosts monthly task force meetings and has contributed 18 out of 31 LEED. Accredited Professionals to the city's roster of LEED APs; designed and managed the construction of two city green building pilot projects.
San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) - SFPUC's Energy Efficiency group provides design-review services for city construction and renovation projects to identify opportunities for energy savings, and performs efficiency retrofits for city facilities; its Water Conservation Department works with communities, residents, businesses, and other city agencies to deliver a variety of water-saving programs.
Department of Recreation and Parks - provides recreation activities, maintains parks, and preserves the environment for the well-being of the community.
Bureau of Construction Management/Department of Public Works - inspects and manages public construction projects for city agencies, from construction of new buildings and renovation of small facilities to capital roadway improvements and infrastructure upgrades.
San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (MUNI) - provides safe, reliable, clean, and accessible transportation for the citizens of San Francisco.
Department of Building Inspection - oversees the enforcement of San Francisco's Building, Housing, Plumbing, Electrical, and Mechanical Codes, and its Disability Access Regulations; streamlined and simplified the residential solar permitting process for the 40 homes participating in the city's solar program.
Port of San Francisco - promotes a balance of maritime, recreational, industrial, transportation, public access, and commercial activities through appropriate management and development of the waterfront for the benefit of the public; will include LEED requirements in future request for proposals.
San Francisco International Airport - conducted lighting retrofits, undertaken mechanical upgrades. Instituted recycling and composting programs, and continues to carefully monitor construction and demolition waste activities.
San Francisco Public Library - currently overseeing and administering the renovation of 19 branch libraries and the construction of five new libraries, incorporating as much as possible green building design features and renewable energy sources into these projects.
