 Energy

The intelligent use of energy is an issue we can all do something about, and San Francisco has made it a top priority in planning for the city's future. While we're modernizing the city's energy infrastructure-concentrating on renewable energy, conservation, and a proposed new power plant that will operate only during times of peak demand-we're making sure that no one neighborhood or income group has to shoulder more than its share of the burden. For example, the recent decommissioning of the power plant in Bayview Hunters Point is a direct result of the city's efforts to support environmental justice in the southeast neighborhoods of San Francisco.
