Renewable Energy
Renewable energy is nature's gift that keeps on giving. All we have to do is accept the gift and put it to good use. The city, in its commitment to supporting renewable energy, is doing just that. By installing renewable energy systems like the 675-kilowatt solar system on the roof of the Moscone Convention Center, finding innovative financing for renewable energy projectsincluding 2001's landmark $100 million solar bond initiativeand supporting the development of emerging technologies like tidal power and cogeneration, San Francisco is proving its commitment to promoting a healthier environment and reducing the city's dependence on fossil fuels.
