Check here to see if a laptop, desktop or monitor is registered in EPEAT, the global registry for greener electronics. EPEAT, short for Electronics Products Environmental Assessment Tool, is an ecolabel that covers environmental issues including recyclability, toxic materials, and energy efficiency. Note that tablets and iPads aren’t yet covered by this program.
The City of San Francisco requires its departments to buy the highest rating, EPEAT-GOLD.
