Start a family garden this Spring.
Come join us at McLaren Park for free garden supplies. Bring your own buckets and get free compost, mulch, seeds, plant starters, and other great gardening resources.
San Francisco Rec and Park’s Urban Agriculture Program provides free materials for the backyard gardener, community gardener, or urban farmer through regularly scheduled Garden Resource Days.
Compost & Mulch
Compost will be limited to five 5-gallon bucket per household
(Buckets per household to ensure there is a sufficient supply for all interested gardeners.)
Mulch is not restricted.
Please bring your own buckets!
Plant Starts & Seeds
Pick up a couple plant starts and some seeds for your garden. Rec and Park often has seasonal veggies, flowers and herbs to share.
Ask a Master Gardener
The University of California Cooperative Extension Master Gardener volunteers often join Rec and Park for Garden Resource Days. Bring your gardening questions!!
Each event will begin promptly at 10 a.m. and conclude at 1 p.m. Please plan your arrival time to ensure you have collected your materials and can leave the site no later than 1 p.m.
