Climate action in San Francisco

The Climate Action Youth Summit (CAYS) celebrates San Francisco youth climate leaders by showcasing their projects, fostering peer-to-peer learning, and inspiring other young people to take bold climate action.

The summit highlights the passion, creativity, and innovation that youth bring to climate solutions in every part of their lives - from school and community service to art, music, tech, sports, and other interests that shape their future pathways in a changing climate.

CAYS over the years

2023 was the first year we launched the Climate Action Youth Summit at Randal Museum with over 180 attendees. This was the beginning of CAYS bringing together teachers and students from across San Francisco to a space where we honor those in our community that are taking climate action. In 2026, CAYS grew to over 4,500 attendees at Yerba Buena Gardens! The summit now hosts indoor and outdoor workshops with the continuing theme of climate action across careers.
