Get up to $5,000 of free reusable foodware from the City of San Francisco.

San Francisco Environment Department is offering eight grants to large institutions to replace single-use disposable food service ware with reusable ware. Reusable foodware can help your organization save money, reduce waste, and improve the customer experience!

Get up to $5,000 to fund permanent, in-house conversion to reusable foodware or the funds can be used toward contracting with a reusable service provider, especially if the large institution lacks space or dishwashing capacity.

Large institutions may include entertainment venues, hotels, health facilities, schools, malls, and more. Get started by completing the form below and a member of the Environment Department's staff will follow up with you directly.

ReThink Disposable’s case study with University of San Francisco’s (USF) Market Café. By transitioning to reusable foodware for onsite dining, USF saved more than $150,000 in disposable foodware costs by eliminating single use disposables and eliminated over 20,000 pounds of waste!

Both institutions and reuse service providers are encouraged to reach out directly to kelly.gaherty@sfgov.org for questions about the grant or interest in the funding.
