REVEL EXPANDS FAST CHARGING NETWORK TO THE WEST COAST, OPENS FIRST BAY AREA CHARGING STATION

San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie cut the ribbon at Revel’s Mission District Charging Station in Downtown San Francisco

San Francisco, California — Today, Revel announced it has opened its first EV fast charging station in the Bay Area, beginning the first phase of Revel’s West Coast expansion that will add over 125 chargers to the urban cores of San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose and South Francisco over the next year. Located in San Francisco’s Mission District at 199 Erie Street, Revel’s new charging station features 12 320 kW chargers, designed and manufactured by Kempower, that are publicly accessible 24/7 to any make & model EV. San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie cut the ribbon to officially open the site at a ceremony earlier today.

“For years, Revel has operated the largest, fastest, and most reliable fast charging network in New York City. Now we’re bringing that leading model to the number one EV market in North America,” said Frank Reig, Co-Founder and CEO of Revel. “Today’s Mission District opening is one of the most important milestone moments for Revel as we replant our bicoastal roots. Thank you to Mayor Lurie for helping us celebrate bringing this critical infrastructure to San Francisco.”

“We’re excited to welcome Revel to San Francisco as they launch their first West Coast charging project,” said Mayor Daniel Lurie. “San Francisco has always been a leader in electric vehicle adoption, and these new chargers will make it even easier for residents to make the switch to EVs with fast and reliable charging. We are open for business, and that means attracting new companies and supporting our own businesses to build a cleaner, greener, and more vibrant city.”

Revel’s Mission District Charging Station brings the company’s total network to 100 open public fast chargers, including its network in New York. The company plans to start construction on seven additional sites in the Bay Area over the next year, representing over 125 new chargers, and continues to add to its portfolio.

Revel also plans to expand to 300 chargers in New York by the end of 2025, including opening a 60-stall site in Maspeth, Queens and the largest charging station by an airport in the country, 48-stalls outside of LaGuardia Airport. Last week, Revel opened its fifth public charging station in New York City, 24 charger sites at JFK International Airport, directly adjacent to a rideshare driver waiting area where charging demand is highest.

“Our mission at Revel is to bring reliable fast charging to dense urban areas where EVs can have the biggest impact on quality of life, but where charging is hardest to come by,” said Paul Suhey, Co-Founder & COO of Revel.“A big thank you to Mayor Lurie and everyone who supported our Mission District ribbon cutting today. This is Revel’s first in California, but definitely not our last.”

Revel’s Co-founder and COO Paul Suhey was joined by San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie, Tyrone Jue the Director of the San Francisco Environment Department (SF Environment), and Kempower’s VP of Markets and Products, North America, Jed Routh.

“At Kempower, our mission is to make EV charging as accessible and user-friendly as possible. Seeing our chargers powering this new Revel station in San Francisco is a proud moment for our team and a step forward for sustainable urban mobility,” said Jed Routh VP of Markets and Products, North America.
