Lithium batteries from electric bikes, scooters, and other micromobility devices do not belong in any of the curbside bins. Most drop-off locations accept only the battery, not the bike or device. Call ahead to confirm whether your specific battery brand is accepted.

Safety Note:
Do not attempt to remove batteries from devices where they are built-in and non-removable. For recycling options, please refer to the search results under electric micromobility devices.

Batteries that are damaged, swollen, defective, or recalled are not accepted at standard drop-off sites. For proper handling, contact Recology at 415-330-1300 to schedule a FREE pick-up.
