San Francisco has over 20 used motor oil collection centers where you can safely dispose of your used motor oil and filters for free. Some centers also accept antifreeze. Check out the interactive map and the list below to find out where these centers are located.

Please keep the following in mind before you visit any drop off location:

  • Call before visiting, because sometimes the tanks are full.
  • Do not mix used motor oil with anything!
  • Sites accept up to 5 gallons per visit. If you have more than five gallons of used motor oil or other toxic products, call 415.330.1405 to schedule a Free Home Collection.

The image shows a neon sign with the word "NEON" lit up in white light. The sign is mounted on a dark wall and is the only source of light in the image, casting a soft glow around the letters. The neon tubes are arranged to spell out "NEON" in all capital letters, with the cabling and mounting structure faintly visible behind the glowing tubes
