The future of Clipper is here! You can now tap to pay for rides with your personal credit card and no longer need to use a Clipper Card to pay for transit fares and passes. Additionally, a $2.85 discount is now applied whenever you transfer between agencies. This discount can apply multiple times per trip, for example, transferring from Muni to BART and then BART to AC Transit. To upgrade your Clipper card to Clipper 2.0, just call Clipper Customer Service Center at 877.878.8883 and ask to speak to a representative (you can also leave a voicemail and provide your Clipper Card ID and ask them to upgrade it for you).

Live too far to take transit? Start or join a vanpool and save $500/month on vanpooling costs through 511.org's Enterprise Vanpool Program. You can save even more by using your Pre-Tax Commuter Benefits to cover any remaining cost and save on bridge tolls, the express lane, and potential wear and tear on your personal vehicle.
